Planar Level is a utility that provides the user with the ability to measure the angle of a surface in a two-dimensional fashion. It can be used to assist in leveling items such as tables, appliances, countertops, etc. It is also useful for checking the angle of surfaces that are not level such as sloped ceilings, inclined planes, vehicle suspension, etc. Since the measurement is provided in a planar fashion, the direction of the slope is instantly seen. This, for example, allows the user the simply set the device on a table and make leg-height adjustments while watching the screen.

The scale of the level can be adjusted from six degrees up to ninety degrees. This gives the user finer resolutions for checking flat surfaces and wider ranges for measuring vertical surfaces. It even works upside-down.

Although the application should work reasonably well right out of the box, in-depth calibration routines are provided that allow the application to be fine-tuned to each specific device.

The physical behavior of the level may be selected by the user such that it resembles a ball rolling down hill or a bubble floating up.
